Loreto has several offshore islands that together make up the Loreto Bay National Park. The Park covers 2,065 square kilometers in the Sea of Cortez. The marine park consist of five islands Isla del Carmen, Isla Catalina, Isla Coronado, Isla Danzante and Isla Montserrat. The Park is home to over 800 species of marine life. These islands offer amazing fishing, kayaking and scuba diving explorations.

Loreto main place to view amazing sunsets is their malecon. The malecon is a seawalk that extends the coast of the city and is located along Calle de la Playa in the center of the town. Loreto most famous attraction is the Mission de Nuestro Senora de Loreto, it is one of the oldest "California" missions. Today the mission building, dating from 1752, is still standing.This attraction has been made into a museum with documents that trace the city's history. Ther is a museum located next door called The Museo de las Misiones, which houses accounts of European conquests of Baja California.
